SSI2-121: American Songs: Reference Sources

Reference Sources

You must include at least one scholarly reference source in your annotated bibliography.

Reference sources include encyclopedias, handbooks, and other factual sources. They provide:

  • general background information that is helpful when you begin your research.
  • words, phrases, names, dates, and events that can be used as keywords when searching a database
  • bibliographies in articles to find other sources (both primary and secondary)
  • cross-references to find related topics

Reference sources may be online or in print. Print reference sources are located on the main floor near the Learning Commons.

Use the encyclopedias listed below for context.
