Liaison Librarian Program

The academic department liaison librarian program has been established as a channel of communication between the public service librarians and the teaching faculty.

Liaison Program Goals

  • To serve as an information consultant for the academic department.
  • To answer questions, resolve problems, interpret library policy, and provide information about library resources.
  • To collaborate with faculty to integrate information literacy into students' learning.
  • To help faculty develop high quality collections in their subject areas.
  • To teach course-integrated classes that focus on the development of research skills within the discipline.
  • To provide reference assistance with student and faculty research in specific subject areas.

We encourage you to contact your liaison librarian with questions or comments about the library!  Questions about the liaison program in general may be directed to Peggy Burge, Associate Director for Public Services.
