Convert Scanned Documents to OCR
If you have a scanned or image-based article or book chapter, you can convert it into selectable, searchable, and editable text using Adobe Acrobat on the Macs located on the main floor of the library.
- Open a PDF file containing a scanned image in Acrobat.
- Click on the Edit PDF tool in the right pane. Acrobat automatically applies optical character recognition (OCR) to your document and converts it to a fully editable copy of your PDF.
- Choose File > Save As and type a new name for your searchable, editable document.
