Summit & ILL Borrowing

Summit Borrowing allows you to get books from the other libraries that belong to the same consortium of academic libraries in the Pacific Northwest. Instead of just one library, it's like you've got 37! Books arrive in 4-5 days, so give yourself plenty of time to get your research started! Look for the "Request from Summit Library" button in Primo.

Interlibrary Loan is good for both books and articles, and allows you to borrow materials from anywhere in the world! Most articles arrive within 3-4 days, while books can take up to two weeks. Look for the "request item from interlibrary loan" button or "Interlibrary Loan (Illiad)" link in Primo.

Call Numbers to Browse

Because it's such an interdisciplinary field, books on environmental policy & decision making are scattered throughout the library's collection.

If you'd still like to browse for them, consider looking at the following areas:

  • GC: oceanography and ocean sciences
  • GE: general environmental science materials
  • GF 1-900: Human Ecology
  • HD 75.6: Environmental aspects of economic development
  • JA 75.8:  Environmental "green movement"
  • QH 75-81: Nature conservation, biodiversity
  • TD 1-1066: Environmental Technology

Locations of books

  • New books are located in the Library lobby and are in call number order.
  • Print Reference books are on the first floor across from the Learning Commons area.
  • Book stacks: Consult the library map; look for location posters; or ask any staff member for help!
