Collins Library includes a growing collection of German-language cinema on DVD. You also can request DVDs from SUMMIT and interlibrary loan.

Is a video subscription that delivers almost 70,000 titles spanning subject areas including anthropology, business, counseling, film, health, history, music, and more.
Films on Demand - Archival Films & Newsreels Collection
Provides online streaming access to many films, including documentaries and newsreels. Films can be searched by subject area or title, and may be watched in their entirety, or in segments.
Kanopy
Films streamed on Kanopy are provided to the Puget Sound community for classroom and educational purposes only. Films that have been licensed for use by the University of Puget Sound are immediately available on the Kanopy platform. If a film has not been licensed for use, you may submit a Kanopy request form and the library will consider the request.

Search for films by title, subject, keywords, or browse by subject. Register with Kanopy to utilize features such as playlists, clips, sharing, embedding, and creating a watch list for future viewing.

Search tips for finding film reviews:

Search titles in both English and German.

When the film title has more than one word, use quotes around the title.

When the film title is one word, use one of these strategies:

Add the word film or motion picture or movies. Ex. Lichter and (film or motion picture or movies)
Add the director's name. Ex. Sasha and "Dennis Todorovic"
Try combining both strategies. Ex. Reader and Daldry and (film or motion picture or movies)

When searching databases for reviews,

Go beyond the first page of results. You may find useful articles on subsequent pages.

No full text available? Check the full text link or search Primo's journal tab.

No scholarly articles? Search for the issues raised in the film.

IMDB: Internet Movie Database
Use IMDB to identify a film's release date, director and actors, or storyline details.
Filmportal.de
A well-presented film website in German & English, although the German platform is more extensive. This project is coordinated by the Deutsches Filminstitut (German Film Institute), and provides details on German films, individuals and film companies.
