Katherine "Katy" Curtis is a liaison librarian for the humanities at the University of Puget Sound. She is responsible for library services in support of English, French Studies, Hispanic Studies, German Studies, Latina/o Studies, Philosophy, Gender and Queer Studies, as well as support for the first-year seminars. Katy is passionate about library instruction, providing library users with the skills and tools they need to be effective learners and researchers, and teaching students how to critically engage with information.

Katy has a Bachelor of Arts in French language and literature from the University of South Florida and a Master of Arts in Modern Languages and Literatures from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She received her Master of Library and Information Sciences from the University of Washington and previously worked as a Reference Specialist at UW Tacoma.

  • Recommend the best resources and databases to search for your research topic

  • Answer your questions via email, phone, or in-person

  • Tell you about library services

For faculty, I can:

  • Introduce your students to research tools and strategies via an instruction session

  • Create a webpage tailored to your course or a class assignment

  • Discuss ways to best incorporate research skills and library materials into your course

  • Meet with your students individually

  • Tell you about library services

  • Act as a liaison communicating the department's concerns and needs to library administration
