Streaming Media Requests
If you have specific titles/resources you know you’d like to have available online, please send those to your liaison librarian and we will do the following:
- Check our streaming services to see if the film/media is already available, and send you the embed code, and/or the direct link to the film/media.
- Check the Media Services server to see if the film/media is available on campus servers. If this is the case, you can now search for and embed those films from within Canvas. For instructions see Using the Medial Application.
- Check to see if we can license an online version of the film/media from one of our providers, and do that if possible.
- If the film/media is not available to license or purchase online then a DVD may be purchased for use in classrooms.
This process can happen relatively quickly, but the library does need some time to work through these options, and it would be great to have resources in place as we approach each semester.
Licensed Streaming Video
All streaming video collections are purchased or licensed content, limited to current authorized Puget Sound students, faculty, and staff. The collections on this page are provided by Collins Library. You may link to them in Canvas.
A note about stability: Some of our streaming services provide a changing selection of items. It is recommended that you check each semester to see whether the item you plan to use in class is still available. Items should be stable for the length of a semester.
Academic Video Online (AVON)

Films that have been licensed for use by the University of Puget Sound are immediately available on the Kanopy platform.
